halloween in nephi

aren't the holidays so much more fun with little ones around???

this halloween was no exception.

with our family party, trunk or treating with our ward, main street trick-or-treating, and visiting a few extra houses...the kids definitely got their share of halloween candy.

max switched it up and was a firefighter (thanks to lynelle!), which was a very smart move since it was much warmer!! (halloween was pretty cold this year!)

here are our little munchkins ready to hit up the stores on main street:

one of max's favorite treats he got from main street trick-or-treat was this silly pair of glasses. for a while there he wore them all the time!

and that concludes my very belated halloween post! :)

halloween in sugarhouse

i had every intention of posting these pictures before thanksgiving...but our november turned out to be slightly chaotic & stressful. so here they are, over one month late!

everyone (local) was able to meet up at tim & kristina's for a halloween bash and it was such a party! the kids looked adorable in their costumes (cowboy and indian princess, in case you were wondering :) and though they didn't last in them for very long, we did manage to get a few decent pictures.

tim made some delicious pumpkin chili, we decorated pumpkins with tattoos (genius!), frosted sugar cookies, had a pinata (thanks for the tutorial, meagan!!), made "witches brew," played pin the spider on the web, and ate wayyy too many treats & cheetos.

all of the cousins got a chance at the pinata...except for julia. max has quite the arm! :)

it was definitely a halloween party to remember.

a toy story halloween.

i'm a little behind in the obligatory halloween post, but here it is!!  a few months ago, max got an idea planted in his head that he would not let go of: "i am going to be buzzlightyear (said really fast) for halloween!!!"

lucky for him, we found buzz on sale + we had some disney money so buzz lightyear was free!  that's always a definite bonus.  avery's costume (little bo peep!) cost a little more + was a labor of love from me (i managed to somehow make her costume!  that was a miracle!) but ohmygoodness she was darling.

they had many opportunities to get decked out in their halloween attire.  tuesday was storytime at the library & later that day we trick-or-treated with the town!  it was a lot of walking for max who refused to get in a stroller, but we survived!

and wednesday was playgroup where max got to go for a ride in the wagon with all of his little buddies :)

that night, after our traditional halloween soup, we headed out to our ward's trunk-or-treat.  the kids scored big time and avery caught on much too quickly!  in a dream world, i would have had enough time to get together mine + danny's costumes (woody and jessie) but the fact that avery actually had a dress to wear (that fit her!!) was good enough for me.  i went as a cat...there must be a cat somewhere in toy story...right?? and danny went as...mr. potato head?  ha.  my mom sent us those cute mustaches (which we had a little too much fun with, as you will see below!)  all in all, it was a wonderful halloween night.  oh, and did i mention how beautiful the weather was for us??  the kids didn't need jackets until the sun went down.  amazing!

pumpkinland

Happy Halloween tomorrow!!  We've got the town trick-or-treat tonight and our ward party tomorrow...the kids should be set!

Over the weekend we went up to Layton to cheer on Danny's brother Aaron while he played in a soccer tournament with Weber State.  Sadly, I didn't get any pictures, but the kids had a great time.  They love their uncle Aaron :)

On our way home we stopped at the famous Pumpkinland in Orem and it did not disappoint!  The kids loved it all + I was happy to finally squeeze something festive into our lives :)

Yay for the holidays!  Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner...
