{tick.tock}

one. two. three. four. five. six.

days until baby mckinley
is supposed to be joining our family.
{but in case you are listening baby, i wouldn't mind one bit if you decided to come a little earlier...}

according to my doctor, this baby in my belly is NOT going to be born in september. at this point in a pregnancy, that is not something a soon-to-be mommy wants to hear. he says "october is a great month! and conference weekend is even better..." {also something a soon-to-be mommy does not want to hear!} up to FIVE days late??? not cool.

i'm trying to stay positive about that because who knows, maybe i'll prove him wrong. maybe i'll go into labor tonight. maybe my water will suddenly break and i'll have to rush into the hospital.

but...maybe not. either way, i'm glad to know that our baby should be happy and healthy...whenever he decides to come!

until then, we are trying to fill our lives with productive activities. in the past few days danny and i have canned twelve quarts of fresh grape juice straight off the vine, i finished my quilt, {which will be a blog post all to itself very soon...it has quite the story behind it...} my bff threw me an awesome baby shower, {which will also have its own blog post} and we've gotten a few more things checked off the to-do list for baby. {pictures all to come very soon!}

so, for all of you waiting to receive the text/blog post saying "HE'S HERE!!" you may have to wait just a little bit longer.

i'm up for trying anything to get him to come though...any suggestions???

  1. Good luck! Those last few days are rough! My little boy was 3 days late and I thought I was going to die but you know they have minds of their own and they come when they want to despite all the crazy attempts to get them out. Seriously though my mom swears by Milk of Magnesia although it has never worked for me. And I had a few girls tell me it helps to bounce on a excercise ball. We are very excited for you and that baby will be here before you know it!

  2. Well, my girlfriend Lindsay just had her baby. She was due on October 1st. She had health problems from her first pregnancy. But 10 days before her due date (meaning, this past Monday) she was measured at a 4cm and went into labor! Her doctor checked her and said...

    "Go home. Have vigorous sex. Come back tomorrow. You'll have the baby."

    Lindsay said, "Hell no." I'll just wait.

  3. I'm so excited for you! All my babies were early, except for Kate, who was a week late, and I thought the world was going to slow down and completely STOP!! Longest week EVER. You just relax and enjoy the last few days of peace you will ever know, and let baby come when he's ready--he might have a few last minute things to finish up before he leaves home!!

It was so good to see you last weekend... you are looking very good and I can't wait to meet the little guy when he does finally decide to make his entrance into the world!! :)

  7. I know you won't read this anytime soon, since you have a million other things to do in the meantime, not to mention just sit and stare at your darling little boy! Thanks for letting us come visit :) We love you guys and are SO HAPPY for you, danny and MAX.

    p.s. We all agreed after leaving the hospital, that Max is one good looking baby...and not all babies get the privilege of that compliment!
