a day on the lake

On Friday the 13th we went boating with Danny's parents and some of their friends. It's always interesting going boating with a newborn because, at least my newborns, hate to wear a life jacket! But somehow we survived :) It was a beautiful day & the kids behaved themselves. After a few hours out in the sun, Avery threw a pretty epic tantrum (and I thought she was just tired...) but on our way home, she threw up ALLLLL over. (Happy Friday the 13th!) When we got back to Danny's parents, both of my boys were sleeping like logs, so I was able to get Avery cleaned up, bathed...and then right after I got fresh jammies on her, she threw up again! I think she set a record and lost it about 10 times. Poor girl!! I'm still not sure what happened, because after a rough, rough night, she woke up feeling good as new & none of us ever got sick (thank goodness!)

I blame it on the day :)

Thanks again Mom & Dad for letting us tag along! Besides getting sick, we had a wonderful time! Let's do it again. In Powell!!

nephi city pool

I'm definitely still trying to keep things under control with three kids, but amazingly enough I survived a trip to the pool all alone with all three kids! It was slightly overcast so the pool was hardly crowded & Graham, being the angel baby he is, slept for the majority of our stay. He did dip his feet in the water for the first time, and that was adorable.

mona reservoir

To finish up our night, we drove out to mona reservoir for the first time ever and skipped rocks. It was the perfect ending to a great day.

I feel like I little girl again...but I love my salt waters!!!

young living farms

A few weeks after school got out for the summer, we took off after a morning & afternoon full of Saturday chores and headed to Mona to visit Young Living farms. It was such an incredibly beautiful night!! No one was there & it was exactly what I needed. I'm so grateful for this beautiful world that we live in, and for my wonderful family. Gosh I love them all so much!!

art city donuts

While my sister Alli was in town, we made an effort to visit Art City Donuts! So glad we did :)

super soakers!

We love summer around these parts. And when aunt Alli came to town we got to stay at my parents for a couple of days & play, play, play! (You should come more often Alli!) The kids found these in the garage & spent soo much time filling them up & squirting them out. They even (mostly) refrained from spraying each other right in the face!

memorial day

I've never really appreciated Memorial Day. Until this year! My love for family history has got me excited to visit the graves of those who have gone on before us & since we were up in Layton over the weekend, thought it would be the perfect time to visit Danny's Grandma's grave.

She is buried in the Kaysville cemetery, and bonus! Their Memorial day program included Elder L. Tom Perry as the guest speaker. It was hot & the kids weren't super interested...but what I was able to hear was really great & inspiring. So awesome to be in the presence of an apostle of the Lord.

Max is such a sweetheart and wanted to make sure that we brought flowers for her grave. (He actually wanted to put flowers on all the graves...or at least the ones without any flowers).

I never met Grandma Kay/Katie (she passed away when Danny was 1), but I have been uploading TONS of pictures of her onto FamilySearch & I feel like I know her a little better now. Funny how studying the lives of our ancestors will do that to ya :) Maybe you should give it a try!

Since Grandma Kay's absolute favorite treat was a vanilla cone from DQ, Grandma Debbie took us all out for a special treat later that day. I call it sneak family history! Thanks again Mom for making it such a fun, special day for us!

And lastly, the competition continues! Grandpa was supposed to vote on which baby was the most handsome, but he responded with, "Do I have to answer that?" Well played, Grandpa ;)
