the grand parade

After pictures, we made our way down to our traditional spot on University. My aunt's parents own a house here & we've watched the parade from this spot for as long as I can remember. It gets SO incredibly hot (see Avery below...poor girl!) but it's one of those things you just have to do! Highlights included: the Juab high marching band, the  Provo missionaries & their double-decker bus, the "princesses" for Avery, and the giant balloons (though they are few & far between!)

// Max looks so tall & grown up here! He's almost FIVE!!!!! Can't believe it. //

// So hot!!!!!! Good thing Grandma came prepared with spray bottles! //

// Happy first 4th of July little man!! //

// This guy with the festive hat on kept asking Max to spray him, and he couldn't believe that someone was asking him to do that! Once he got over the shock of it, he didn't want to stop! //

...

We got home by 11 and we were exhausted!! Hot air balloons, family pictures, and the grand parade will do that to you. So the rest of the day was filled with lots of naps, lounging, eating & hanging out.

We did make it to part of the BYU Men's soccer game that night & then watched the fireworks on a grassy field. The kids stayed up wayyy too late, but they were making memories :) And I was so proud of Ave for being brave this year! (Last year she was terrified of the fireworks!)

I didn't get any other pictures the rest of the day, but what a wonderful day it was!
I love, love, love the 4th of July.

God bless America!
